Manchester's iconic O2 Ritz was buzzing with energy on Wednesday night in preparation for Australian indie rockers Spacey Jane, aka Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu, Caleb Harper, Kieran Lama and Peppa Lane. With two stellar studio albums and an immense level of support and popularity back home, it is unsurprising that Spacey Jane caused quite a stir at the announcement of a European tour.

Opening with the uplifting "Lunchtime", the band transformed a February night in Manchester to a summery day elsewhere. Following this came debut album track "Skin", before an insane applause, surprising the musicians themselves.

Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu shone on guitar, a ball of electricity giving everything to the performance, and creating shapes with his movements as the band played through "Sawteeth" and "Weightless". With legendary influences such as The Pixies and The Strokes, the night saw more garage rock hits with "Head Cold" and "Lot's of Nothing".

Ending the night with smash "Booster Seat", Spacey Jane brought a festival atmosphere to the indoor venue, sealing in a brilliant gig and leaving everyone anxious for more. No doubt, the Australians have a long career ahead of them as they take on the rest of the world, gaining more support as they go.
