Hastings born band Kid Kapichi arrived in Manchester to perform one of the most fun and energetic shows the year has seen so far.

Kicking off their set with a trilogy of songs from their brand new album There Goes The Neighbourhood, the venue erupted into cheering as moshing. "Artillery" was the opening song, starting off the set we'd been excited about for months. "Let's Get to Work" came next, featuring possibly one of the greatest lyrics ever written - "Remember, you're not a hasbeen... you're a Heinz bean." The latest album has seen Kid Kapichi really lean into their references of British culture, with mentions of classics such as custard creams, and of course, good old Heinz beans. "999" followed. As the heaviest and possibly most political track from the new album, it quickly became a fan favourite.

"Tamagotchi" is one of the most fun and cleverly written songs from the band, created as an homage to those turning 30, and the nostalgia of their youths. The band also performed tracks from their previous album This Is What You Could've Won, such as "Party At Number 10", Kid Kapichi's twist on a ballad, as well as "New England", which support Dumb Buoys Fishing Club returning to the stage to fill in for Bob Vylan, who features on the track. "Can EU Hear Me?" saw the first crowd surfer of the night, and the energy in the room only increased, each member of the band putting on a fun, unique and exciting performance.

Ending the night with "Smash the Gaff", bassist Lewis joined the party and hopped into the crowd himself. And with that, a fantastic gig came to a close. Kid Kapichi are one of the most promising British bands on the scene at the moment, as we can't wait to watch them only get bigger and bigger.
