    Creeper at the Manchester Academy.

By Anya Baxter and Jim Blunt.

Horror-infused alt rock band Creeper blew through Manchester, bringing the bats, blood and leather jackets with them. The night saw a fantastic performance tinged with gothic fun, and the night even ended with a gorgeous proposal from two devoted fans.

The night began with Darcia, the "Vampire Familiar" introducing the band with a super sharp satirical set of jokes, before it was announced that the show was about to begin. And with that the band took to the stage, and the night of spooky alt tunes began with "Further From Forever", straight from their new album Sanguivore. Frontman Will Gould led the performance, captivating on the stage, setting the tone for the night.

The setlist saw a mix of Creeper's greatest hits and fan favourites, everyone in the room full of joy, despite the dark themes of the music. From the set, to the outfits, through the lyrics and instrumentation, Creeper have combined everything they can to sell their ideas and create a truly immersive experience for the audience. Their live shows are a performance in every sense of the word, even featuring prosthetic heads, and when you've spent enough time watching this band, you'd expect nothing less.

A phenomenal night ended with "Cry To Heaven" and a reprise of "Science Fiction Double Feature" a nod to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a musical horror classic. Creeper put on an endlessly memorable performance, full of fun, surprises and spooky twists. An experience that would be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates horror, gothic culture, the alternative music scene, and even a performance. Unlike anything you've ever seen before, and worth every minute of time their supporters spent dousing themselves with fake blood. Creeper are a band set for greatness, and the quality of their live show solidifies this prediction.
